BYO's player is packed with a lot of great features, including allowing you to see a channel description, who made it, and and go directly to that channel at BYO.
To access a channel's description from the player, click the large white Channel Info arrow to the top right of the player:
That will display a brief description of that channel as written the channel's creator.
